Renewed Importance on the Virtuous Cycle

The Virtuous Cycle of solar + EV adoption is a critical concept to any domestic economy, especially here in the southeast United States where this combination of electricity production and transportation can supercharge our energy, transportation, environmental and financial well-being. We have previously discussed this concept and it bears revisiting as EV and solar adoption continue to march forward.

From battery manufacturing to solar panel use to consumer finances, the Virtuous Cycle can (and should) be applied to each phase of a product’s lifecycle for the benefit of the environment, local community and domestic economy. As large-scale lithium operations gear up to tap the coming battery recycling boon, residents and leaders in Florida and throughout the Southeast should be looking at how we can capitalize on the coming solar panel recycling market. These benefits will extend from the solar industry to the general economy and will also positively impact the environment.

On a small scale, Optimus Solar is installing more and more home EV chargers alongside solar energy systems, with homeowners capitalizing on the lower cost of energy from solar, alongside safe and efficient electric transportation. Full EV + solar adopters with Optimus Solar are saving an average of $4,500 per year over no solar + gas transportation households.

The Virtuous Cycle is so powerful because it naturally aligns the interests of the environmental, financial, and economic growth communities. As we bring more businesses and homes into this Cycle, the power will grow for all members of society.
